The conference will begin at 1:00 pm on April 25, 2014 and finish by 1:00 PM on April 27, 2014.

The workshop will feature several lecture series as well as individual talks given by

Xin Zhang (Stony Brook)

Thin groups are discrete subgroups of Lie groups which are not lattices but are Zariski dense. They have found great interest and amazing applications in number theory, arithmetic combinatorics, geometry and dynamics. Topics include spectral gaps, Apollonian circle packings, strong approximation, approximate groups amongst others.
