Math 106-01: Calculus II: Reading Homework 7.7

  1. Improper Integrals : what assumptions did we make to evaluate intab,f(x),dx?
    1. Infinite Limits : how do we evaluate an improper integral with an infinite limit of integration? what is strange about this type of computation?
      1. divergence : what do we mean if we say an improper integral is divergent?
      2. two infinite limits : how do we address the case of an integral with two infinite limits?
    2. Infinite Integrands : how do we evaluate improper integrals with unbounded integrands?
      1. discontinuities within the boundary : what happens if the integrand is unbounded somewhere in the middle of the interval of integration? what do we have to careful not to miss in this type of problem?
      2. discontinuities at each boundary : what do we do with an integral with an integrand which is discontinuous at both boundaries?
