2009-10-30: Triple Integrals and Cylindrical Coordinates
Stewart section 16.7
- Last time we saw how to evaluate Triple Integrals over a 3D region E:
- Take its projection, R;
- Write the double integral;
- At each dA, find the range of the third variable.
- Side Note
- Game: Consider a corner planter with density d(z) = 5(1-z).
- Set up an integral for its mass, in rectangular coordinates;
- In cylindrical coordinates;
- Find the mass.
- Key Point To set up the triple integral
- Game: Set up the integral over the corner planter in a new order.
- Game: Find the number of bubbles in a container if the density of bubbles is d = 5z.
