Ma316-001-W09 Homework

These assignments are for Math 316, Winter 2009, taught by Gavin LaRose.
This list will be updated as assignments are made.

Homework is due at the beginning of class on the day indicated. Note that because answers to problems are in the back of the book, you must show all work, and write your solutions in complete sentences. Any homework submitted that does not show work or is not in complete sentences may be penalized by up to the full credit of the assignment. Starting with homework 7, there are occasional optional problems, indicated in square brackets. See the note at the bottom of the page for an explanation of these problems.

Note on optional problems: Problems in square brackets are not required. They are additional problems that extend our coverage slightly, either by providing additional practice or by looking at some things that we won't have time to spend more time on in class. The numbering is chapter.section.problem (so #5.6.16 is problem #16 in section 5.6). If you are inclined to work these, you may submit them with (but separate from) the homework assignment. Each will be worth two points, and which will be added as a bonus to your homework grade at the end of the term. Each will be graded on a (more or less) strict credit/no credit basis.

Note that you cannot be penalized by not doing these problems.
