Welcome to the UM on-line Maple error database. This is a searchable list of Maple errors, with a possible diagnosis of the cause of the error and suggestion for fixing it. If you encounter an error that is not currently in the database, please submit it for inclusion. Comments for improvement of this service should be directed to Gavin Larose (glarose@umich.edu).
For a list of common errors that don't return specific error messages,
search for the keywords "common errors". To search for specific
errors, you can cut and paste the error message into the search form.
On a Unix computer, this may be done by highlighting the message in
Maple (left-click at one end of the message and hold the mouse button
down as you drag the mouse to the end of the message, then release),
then selecting Edit -> Copy
(or pressing
Control-C). Then click in the Message box below and select
Edit -> Paste
(or press Meta-V; the
Meta key is one of the Alt or "Diamond" keys near the space bar).
If you encounter an error message which is not yet in the database and would like to see it added, or if you encounter an error message that is in the database but in a different context, please enter the message (or keywords describing it) and the command that generated it in the following. Including the command is important, as it will be difficult for us to diagnose the error message without knowing how it appeared. See below for instructions on cutting-and-pasting from Maple to this form.
