• My bachelor degree is from the Moscow State University (MGU) (1966) and my Ph.D. is also from MGU (1970). My thesis adviser was Professor Igor Shafarevich. I had emigrated from the former USSR in 1977 and I am at the University of Michigan since 1978.

   

• My area of research is Algebraic Geometry. I have done some work in the theory of algebraic surfaces, singularities, vector bundles, invariant theory and classical algebraic geometry.
