Practice Problems

To assist in your studying, these are broken into Routine Problems, which you should regard as problems which you are expected to be able to do with no errors; and More Conceptual Problems, which are just that. The latter should help develop a deeper level of understanding of the material.

Exam practice:
The following practice problems may be useful additional problems to consider as you prepare for the midterms. Please note that the material covered in these collections is not guaranteed to be all of the material that you need to study for the midterms, and that problems on the midterms may bear more or less resemblence to these problems. To study for the midterms you should review all of your course work—lecture, written homework, labs, and web homework—as well as the practice problems below, and additional problems from the text. The problems here may be an additional resource that provides an additional useful perspective.

Additional practice:
We are adding math 216 problems to the Exam Shops managed by Mark Conger, for the Douglas Houghton Scholars Program. You can use Exam Shops to see old exam problems and create practice exams for yourself. To use this, go to the Exam Shops page and select one of the links in the math 216 column.

Note: There are other, older practice exams for math 216 that are also in circulation. Those were written for the course before it was restructured in 2016, and before the exams were uniform. Accordingly, you may wish to approach them with caution.
