Instructions:
  1. Take the Example Test before trying to take the gateway for practice or for real.
  2. Take the gateway for practice until you can consistently pass it---then go and take it for a grade.
  3. Once you can pass the gateway consistently when practicing, take it for a grade in the gateway lab in East Hall at one of the times given below
Testing Tips:
  1. Always Preview your answers.
  2. Use calculator syntax when you enter formulas: type things as you would enter them on your calculator. In particular,
  3. The Square Root function is sqrt(x) or x^(1/2) (note the parentheses!)
  4. If you enter a decimal, include four or five significant digits: in particular, type pi or 3.14159 for pi, NOT 3.14.
  5. Watch Your Case: X is different from x, Sin is different from sin, and Pi is different from pi. Always use the same case as the problem you're solving.
  6. (and, of course) Work things out by hand, on paper, before entering them in the test.
