In the picture below a number of key or otherwise useful parts of the
Netscape user interface (note that many of these are
similar in Internet Explorer) are pointed out (from right
to left):
- The Location Bar: gives the location of the
page that you are viewing. To go to a new page, you can simply
type a new URL in this space and press "Return".
- The Go Menu: is at the top of the screen, and
gives a list of the pages that you have recently visited. This
lets you easily jump back several pages to a document that you
were looking at sometime earlier.
- The Reload Button: becomes very important when
you're editing and viewing Web pages -- after you have
viewed a page, Netscape stores it so that you can look at
it again later without having to get it over the
Internet! This is great when you're Web surfing, but means
that if you want to reload the page you have tell
Netscape to do so manually. Also note: Sometimes
you'll have to hold the Shift Button at the same time
to get it to really reload!
- And the Back Button: is very useful for
quickly jumping back to the last page you looked at.
